Setting DroneDeploy Flight App Permission for RC Pro

Have more questions? Submit a request

To connect your mobile device to your RC pro controller, you will need to accept all the app permission prompts when installing the DroneDeploy Flight App onto the RC Pro controller for the Mavic 3 Enterprise drone.

The DJI SDK requires access to these permissions to function:

Manifest.permission.VIBRATE,
Manifest.permission.INTERNET,
Manifest.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE,
Manifest.permission.WAKE_LOCK,
Manifest.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION,
Manifest.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE,
Manifest.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION,
Manifest.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_STATE,
Manifest.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE,
Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE,
Manifest.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE

Unfortunately we have no control over this behavior, per the DJI SDK documentation.

When Installing the DroneDeploy Flight Accept ALL Permissions

You must allow all of the permissions that the app asks for, otherwise the app will not function.

To set app permissions for the DroneDeploy Flight app on the Mavic 3 Enterprise RC Pro Controller, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings: Turn on your Mavic 3 Enterprise RC Pro Controller and navigate to the home screen.
  2. Access App Settings: Locate and open the "Settings" app on your controller. This is typically represented by a gear icon.
  3. Navigate to Apps: Within the Settings menu, find the section related to "Apps" or "Applications." Tap on it to proceed.
  4. Select DroneDeploy Flight: Scroll through the list of installed apps until you find "DroneDeploy Flight." Tap on it to access its settings.
  5. Review Permissions: Within the DroneDeploy Flight app settings, you should see various permission options listed. These may include permissions related to camera access, location access, storage, etc.
  6. Adjust Permissions: Review each permission setting and ensure that they are set to "Allowed" or "On" as necessary. Toggle any permissions that are currently disabled to enable them.
  7. Save Changes: Once you've adjusted the permissions to your preference, navigate to the option to save or apply changes. This may involve tapping a "Save" button or simply exiting the settings menu.
  8. Restart the App: After making changes to the app permissions, it's a good idea to restart the DroneDeploy Flight app. Close the app if it's currently open, then reopen it to ensure that the changes take effect.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the DroneDeploy Flight app on your Mavic 3 Enterprise RC Pro Controller has the necessary permissions enabled for optimal performance during flight operations.
