Overview

The Controlled Maps Filter allows you to quickly identify and isolate maps that leverage high-accuracy settings. This tool simplifies the process of finding the right data for precise measurements or temporal comparisons, especially in projects with numerous flight logs. This includes maps using:

  • Ground Control Points (GCPs)

  • Checkpoints

  • RTK (Real-Time Kinematic)

  • PPK (Post-Processed Kinematic)

By using this filter, you can distinguish high-accuracy captures from standard flights at a glance.

Availability: Who has access?

The Controlled Maps Filter is available for Advanced, Teams, and Enterprise subscriptions. This feature is accessible on both web and mobile platforms.

How to use the Controlled Maps Filter

Screenshot 2024-07-17 at 11.40.24 AM.pngFollow these steps to filter your project data:

  1. Open your project and navigate to the Explore page.

  2. Click the Map drop-down menu located at the top left of the screen.

  3. Locate the filter icon next to the map search bar.

  4. Select Controlled to display only the maps processed with high-accuracy data.

Key Features

  • High-Accuracy Identification: Quickly isolate maps that meet survey-grade requirements.

  • Visual Badging: Controlled maps feature specific badges (GCP, RTK, PPK) within the menu, providing instant context without opening a processing report.

  • Streamlined Comparison: Compare multiple "controlled" flights over time to ensure consistency in your site analysis.

Limitations

  • The filter only identifies maps where high-accuracy data was successfully processed. Maps with failed GCP tagging or lost RTK connection during flight may not appear under this filter.

  • "Controlled" status is determined at the time of processing and cannot be manually toggled if the underlying data (like a GCP CSV) was not provided during upload.

FAQs

Q: Does this filter include maps with only Checkpoints?
A: Yes. Any map processed with Checkpoints, even without GCPs, is considered a "Controlled" map.

Q: Can I see which specific technology was used (e.g., RTK vs. PPK) from the filter?
A: While the filter shows all controlled maps, individual badges next to the map name in the drop-down menu specify whether GCP, RTK, or PPK was used.

Q: Why is my map not showing up under the Controlled filter?
A: Ensure that high-accuracy data (GCPs, RTK, or PPK) was included during the upload and processing phase. If the map was processed as a standard flight, it will not appear when the filter is active.
