When conducting inspections, DroneDeploy helps you identify field notes using custom terms that are meaningful for your team. Our new custom field note type feature allows you to perform inspections and generate reports using field note terms that your teams have standardized.
In addition to custom field note types, you now have the ability to segregate and filter field notes based on severity levels so that inspectors can highlight the most urgent field notes to their field teams.
Creating a Custom Field Note Type
Owners/admins can create, edit, and delete custom field note types at an organization level. Editors will be able to assign these custom field note types from the drop-down menu.
To create a custom field note type, owners/admins will need to:
- Create an annotation marker and create a Field Note
- From the label drop-down, select "Create Field Note Type."
- A "New Field Note Type" pop-up will appear. Insert the Custom Field Note Type name here.
- Once the notification "Successfully created new field note type" appears, admins, owners, and editors will be able to select this new field note type from the drop-down.
Admins/owners will not be able to permanently delete field note types without a replacement.
Naming Requirements
- Maximum of 50 characters per field note type
- Alphanumeric and spaces only
- No duplicate field note types
Field Note Severity and Cost of Repair
In addition to creating custom field note types, each field note can be assigned a severity level as well as an approximate cost of repair associated with the field note.
These new fields, custom field note types, severity, and cost, will now be visible in the field note reports and APIs. And if you have an integration already with Procore or Autodesk BIM 360, these new fields can also be transferred once you generate a new Observation or Field Note.
