We are excited to introduce a new streamlined way to inspect your drone data through the photo inspection workflow.
We recognize users do not always have an orthomosaic or drone flight associated with their project. In this workflow, you can upload individual photo media to then conduct inspections on them without the previously needed 2D basemap.
DroneDeploy now supports the creation of inspectable Photo Reports using the Walkthrough app on mobile. Available to all trial users or customers with a 360 walkthrough subscription. Learn more about Photo Reports & Mobile Capture here and our paid subscription plans, or start your trial today.
How does it work?
In your project, head to the Upload Tab to start a New Upload.
Choose photos and click Upload.
Note that when you upload a set of photos, they will be grouped both in the sidebar and on the report. In this example, we are uploading a "group" of photos for each pole inspected.
Photo groups cannot be combined after upload; you can use upload groups to your advantage for data organization!
Once uploaded, your photos will appear as photo pins:
Each pin represents a group of photos.
Media Gallery
Photos will be organized in photo groups to the left of the map.
To view the media, click on an image from the photo group on the sidebar or from a pin on the map.
Create a Field Note
Click on a specific photo to enter the photo view. Then select the Field Note creation icon to create a Field Note.
Then click an area in the photo to create the Field Note
Fill out the Type, Status, Summary, and Severity. Then click Done.
An orange photo marker will denote the field note.
The Field Note is also available in that date's Field Note Report.
This report can be shared with others in your organization by sharing them on the project, or you can download a PDF.
