Uploading of Walk data to DroneDeploy for processing can only be accomplished manually through the DroneDeploy website, and not via the mobile ground app in case of a sync failure.
There are two methods available for uploading your Walk data:
-
Manual Upload via DroneDeploy Website in .INSV or .MP4 format:
- Navigate to the DroneDeploy website.
- Access the UPLOAD tab.
- If you are uploading .insv or ".mp4" files, click on "New Upload" and proceed by dragging and dropping the ".insv" or "mp4" files. To ensure a successful upload, each Walk should include two .insv video files when using Insta360 cameras earlier than the One X4, and one .insv file if using the One X4.
-
Ensuring Correct Video Format:
-
Before uploading, ensure your 360 videos are in the correct format. For Insta360 cameras, the One X4 requires one .insv file, while earlier models need two .insv files in equirectangular format. For all other cameras, the video should be in an .mp4 file with an equirectangular format for 360 Walks.
-
Uploading .INSV & MP4 Files
Simply click the UPLOAD tab to begin uploading the file(s) to DroneDeploy.
When your walk is ready you will receive an email. Click the View Walk button to align it to your site and explore the video.
Alignment and Viewing
Please note alignment features are available only on the Desktop/Web version of DroneDeploy.
For the best experience, use the Ground App, which automatically aligns your walk. If you're not using the app, you can manually align walks:
-
Select Walks from the Media left side panel.
-
Once selected a right-side panel should open. Click the Alignment Tool (crosshair option)
-
On the left side of the alignment screen, choose the start and endpoints with numbered blue pins.
-
Select the layer for alignment (Basemap or uploaded overlays) at the top.
-
On the right side of the alignment screen, manipulate the points to align and scale the walk path.
6. Select Done at the top right to dave your changes!
