We’ve introduced an updated pano capture flow in the Ground App designed to speed up and streamline the process of capturing images with Insta360 cameras. This change improves the performance of pano capture.
What’s New
Here’s what’s changed in the new pano capture flow:
- 📍 Pin Placement Happens Instantly
The photo pin now drops on the map as soon as the capture button is tapped, even while the image is still transferring in the background. - ⏱ No More Waiting to Move
Users can immediately move the crosshair to frame their next shot, the UI is no longer blocked during the image transfer. - 🔄 New Spinner Indicator
A subtle spinner now appears in the preview pane while the photo is being retrieved from the camera.

These updates make the experience feel faster and more fluid, reducing frustration and matching the capture behavior previously available in StructionSite. This is particularly valuable for:
- Power users capturing high volumes of panos
