In today's digital age, privacy concerns are at the forefront of technological advancements. Recognizing the importance of privacy protection, DroneDeploy is proud to introduce Privacy Mode, a feature designed to safeguard the privacy of individuals captured in 360 Walks.

Privacy Mode is available to Enterprise subscription tiers with the Ground Capture feature activated.

What is Privacy Mode?

Privacy Mode is an innovative feature that automatically masks the faces and bodies of individuals detected in 360 Walks during processing. This feature supports a single method of masking: downscale masking.

This method reduces the resolution of faces and bodies, effectively blurring out identifying details while still maintaining the overall context of the image.

Why Choose Privacy Mode?

Privacy Mode is an opt-in feature that caters to privacy-conscious users, particularly contractors working on projects in sensitive environments such as schools or public/government facilities. Additionally, Privacy Mode aligns with the stringent privacy requirements outlined by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How to Enable Privacy Mode

Enabling Privacy Mode is simple and straightforward. You can reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance in adding this feature to your DroneDeploy account. Alternatively, you can contact Support@dronedeploy.com for further guidance and support in activating Privacy Mode.

Limitations of Privacy Mode

While Privacy Mode offers robust privacy protection, it's essential to acknowledge its limitations. Individuals who are far away or obstructed from view may not be accurately identified and therefore may not be masked. Additionally, if individuals are positioned very close to the monopod, with only the top of their heads visible, they may not be detected by the system.
