The Mobile 3D Scan feature is compatible with iOS devices that are equipped with LiDAR sensors. These sensors are necessary for accurate depth sensing and spatial modeling.
Supported Apple devices
We recommend iOS 16 or newer. Ensure your device has at least 1 GB of free disk space.
iPhones
The following Apple devices support LiDAR and are compatible:
iPhone 12 Pro or newer.
iPhone 12 Pro Max or newer.
Note: Standard (non-Pro) iPhones do not include LiDAR and are not supported for Mobile 3D Scan.
iPads
iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation and newer; 2020 onwards).
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation and newer; 2020 onwards).
Note: Only iPad Pro models with LiDAR scanners are supported. Other iPads (Air, Mini, standard) do not include LiDAR and are not compatible.
Downloading the DroneDeploy Ground App
Download the iOS app from the App Store from the App Store.
Limitations
Because the feature is still in beta, some instability and crashes may occur, especially after completing a scan.
Scan viewing is limited to the Web app. Mobile viewing is not yet supported.
Devices without LiDAR will not show the colored mesh when scanning.
