Overview
For UAV operators who are not flying directly in the DroneDeploy app, we support the creation of custom flight records. This allows you to record flights made using other platforms—such as the Phantom 4 RTK, DJI Pilot app, or with Autel and Wingtra drones—to maintain a single source of truth for auditing and compliance.
Availability: Who has access?
Custom Flight Records are available to Enterprise and Drone Operations Management customers.
All team members can access this feature via the mobile app and web dashboard.
How to create a custom flight record
Follow these steps to manually log a flight performed outside of the DroneDeploy environment:
Open the Flight Logs menu. Navigate to the left panel in the DroneDeploy dashboard and click Flight Logs.
Add a new record. Click Add Record in the upper-right corner.
Enter flight details. A window appears with fields for the mission data. Fill out the following information:
Pilot name
Drone hardware used
Date and time of the flight
Any additional relevant notes
Save the entry. Click Save Record to complete the entry and add it to your organization's flight history.
Key Features
Centralized Compliance: Build a single source of truth for your Drone Operations auditing and compliance requirements.
Cross-Platform Tracking: Log usage for any hardware, including DJI, Autel, and Wingtra.
Mobile Accessibility: Drone Operations customers can find the Flight Records section in the mobile app to log data while in the field.
Limitations
Manual entries do not include the automatic telemetry synchronization (such as battery levels or exact GPS flight paths) found in automated DroneDeploy flight logs.
