I see the Waiting to Upload status on my mobile device or RC Pro after a flight. Why has my data not moved to the processing stage, and how do I complete the upload?
The Answer
The Waiting to Upload status indicates that the data is stored on your mobile device but has not yet been synced to DroneDeploy servers. This occurs under the following conditions:
App Status: The DroneDeploy Flight App must remain open and in the foreground to facilitate the transfer. If the app is closed or the device screen turns off, the upload pauses.
Internet Connection: A stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection is required. If the connection is lost or weak, the status remains at Waiting for Upload.
Sync Settings: Data syncs automatically when a connection is established. Ensure that your device is not in Airplane Mode and that cellular data usage is permitted for the app if Wi-Fi is unavailable.
To resolve this, keep the DroneDeploy Flight App open and connected to a strong internet source until the status changes from Waiting to Upload to Uploading or Complete. This may take up to 20 minutes, depending on your connection. After 20 minutes have passed and no upload progress has been made, force close the DroneDeploy app and re-open. Please do not sign out of the app!
