Why did my Stand Count flight skip or miss images?

The Question

During my Stand Count flight, the drone appeared to skip capture points or failed to take images at certain intervals. What causes these gaps in data collection?

The Answer

Image skipping during a Stand Count mission is typically caused by the drone's inability to trigger the camera at the required speed or frequency. This occurs due to the following factors:

  • Flight Speed: If the drone is flying too fast for the capture interval, it may skip a point to maintain its flight path. Reducing the flight speed in the Flight Settings menu allows the camera more time to trigger at each location.

  • SD Card Write Speed: A slow SD card can cause a bottleneck. If the card cannot write the image data quickly enough, the next capture command may be missed. Use a high-speed (U3 or higher) SD card for Stand Count missions.

  • Signal Interference: A brief loss of signal between the remote controller and the drone can result in missed trigger commands. Ensure a strong connection and clear line of sight.

  • Camera Settings: Ensure the camera is not set to a mode (such as long exposure or RAW) that requires a longer processing time between shots.
