The Question

During a flight mission, the video feed on my mobile device has gone black, or the screen is unresponsive. How can I restore the live view and ensure the mission is still recording?

The Answer

A black screen usually indicates a disruption in the video downlink between the drone and your mobile device, or an overloaded mobile processor. Follow these steps to restore your display:

  1. Check Cable Connections: Unplug and reconnect the USB/Lightning cable between your remote controller and your mobile device. Ensure the cable is a high-quality, manufacturer-certified data cable.

  2. Force Close Background Apps: Other apps running in the background can consume the memory needed for the video feed.

  3. Verify Hardware Temperature: Mobile devices often dim or black out the screen if they overheat. Ensure your device is out of direct sunlight and remove any heavy protective cases during high-temperature operations.

  4. Confirm Mission Progress: Even if the screen is black, the drone will typically continue its automated flight path and capture images to the SD card. Monitor the physical lights on your remote controller; if you maintain a green connection light, the drone is still under control.
