Procore Integration – FAQ

1. How does the DroneDeploy integration with Procore enhance workflows?

The DroneDeploy integration with Procore is designed to streamline project management by offering:

  • Drawing Management: Seamlessly import drawings from Procore and keep them updated automatically. These drawings can serve as overlays for your Interior projects.
  • Auto-Export of Media: Easily export photos, panos, and (soon) walk frames directly to Procore, either to the "Photos" section or to the "Documents" folder within the linked project.
  • Enhanced Traceability: Issues created in DroneDeploy now include clear attribution, ensuring you can identify the user who initiated them directly from the observation description.

2. Where are the files stored after the auto-export?

  • Procore Photos: Media is organized in an album titled "DroneDeploy."
  • Procore Documents: Files are placed in a "DroneDeploy" folder within the linked Procore project. For walks, each walk will be placed in a subfolder inside the "DroneDeploy" folder.

3. Can I control where the DroneDeploy album is placed in Procore Documents?

The "DroneDeploy" folder is created within the linked Procore project, and only users assigned to that project will have access. While the Procore API does not allow for setting "internal only" controls, companies can manually move the folder to restricted locations. However, they must ensure that the DroneDeploy account used for the integration has access to the new location.

4. What file size limitations apply to the integration?

The integration supports exports of up to 500MB for Procore Documents. Larger file sizes may need to be split or exported manually.

5. Are there plans for exporting Walks, and how will they work?

Yes, Walks will soon be included in auto-export functionality. These will be exported exclusively to Procore Documents and stored in subfolders within the "DroneDeploy" folder.

6. What happens if the media exported is missing necessary permissions?

If the linked Procore account lacks access to the designated folder in Procore, new captures will not sync to that folder. Ensure the Procore account has appropriate permissions to prevent sync failures.

7. Is there a help article available to explain the auto-export functionality?

You can find a detailed guide on the auto-export functionality with Procore in this article - Auto Exports for Procore.
