Recommended Devices for DroneDeploy Mapping

If you are looking for the best experience, performance, and security, we recommend you run DroneDeploy using the following device families:

  • Apple iPad Pro, iPad (2020+), or iPad Mini 5
  • Apple iPhone 11 or newer
  • Samsung Galaxy S9 or newer* See Android Support Below
Apple iOS is the most reliable for mapping
Over 75% of DroneDeploy flights are made with Apple iOS devices. We consistently see greater application stability, performance, and DJI drone connectivity on the Apple iOS operating system.
You can operate the DroneDeploy app on the DJI RC Pro Controller for the Mavic 3 Enterprise Series of drones. No other DJI, smart controller, or drone series is currently supported for flight.
Note: Please check out our Stand Count and Live Map-specific guidance if you want the list of Supported and Recommended devices to use when flying Stand Count or Live Map missions. This functionality has more stringent hardware requirements due to the nature of these capture types.
