‍If you encounter glitches, performance issues, or unexpected errors, a factory reset or restart is often the go-to solution. It clears out potential software hiccups, providing a clean slate for optimal performance.

Not all Insta360 cameras support a factory reset, but many of them offer a way to restart or reset the camera in case it becomes unresponsive. Below is a guide for how to reset or restart the supported 360 cameras.

Cameras That Do Support Factory Reset

Insta360 One X4: If your camera becomes unresponsive, you can reset it by either using an eject pin to poke the reset pinhole or by long-pressing the power button for more than 15 seconds. The indicator light will go off if the reset is successful.

Cameras That Do Not Support Factory Reset

If your camera does not support a factory reset, you can try restarting it. Here’s how to restart some common models:

Insta360 One X3

To restart your Insta360 One X3, simply power it off and on again by holding down the power button for a few seconds until the camera turns off. Wait for a few seconds before powering it back on.

Insta360 One R

For the Insta360 One R, restart the camera by powering it off and on again. Hold the power button until the camera turns off, then wait for a few seconds before powering it back on.

Insta360 One X2

To restart the One X2, turn it off and then turn it back on by pressing and holding the power button. Wait for a few seconds to ensure the camera has fully powered down before restarting.

Insta360 One RS 1-inch

For the One RS 1-inch, follow the same process as other One X2 and One X3 cameras—simply power the camera off and on again by holding the power button.

Insta360 One X

The Insta360 One X can also be restarted by holding down the power button until the camera turns off, then wait a few seconds before turning it back on.

Ricoh Theta Models

The Ricoh Theta X, Theta Z1, and Theta V models can be restarted by turning them off and on again using the power button. For certain models, you may need to use a reset pinhole or hold the power button for an extended period for more advanced troubleshooting.

Other Notes

Not all cameras support a factory reset, especially older models such as the Insta360 Titan, Pro series, and some Ricoh Theta models. If a factory reset is unavailable, restarting the camera is often sufficient to resolve unresponsiveness or minor software glitches. Be sure to check for any firmware updates that may address issues with the camera’s performance.
