‍If you encounter glitches, performance issues, or unexpected errors, a factory reset or restart is often the go-to solution. It clears out potential software hiccups, providing a clean slate for optimal performance.

Not all Insta360 cameras support a factory reset, but many of them offer a way to restart or reset the camera in case it becomes unresponsive. Below is a guide for how to reset or restart the supported 360 cameras.

How to reset or restart your camera

Follow these steps based on your specific camera model to resolve unresponsiveness.

Insta360 One X4

The Insta360 One X4 supports a factory reset. To reset the camera:

  1. Use an eject pin to poke the reset pinhole.

  2. Alternatively, long-press the Power button for more than 15 seconds. The indicator light goes off once the reset is successful.

Insta360 One X3, X2 and One X

To restart these models:

  1. Press and hold the Power button until the camera turns off.

  2. Wait 2-3 seconds.

  3. Press the Power button again to turn the camera on.

Insta360 One R and One RS 1-inch

To restart the Insta360 One R or RS 1-inch:

  1. Hold the Power button until the camera turns off.

  2. Wait a few seconds.

  3. Press the Power button to power the camera back on.

Ricoh Theta models

For Ricoh Theta X, Z1 and V models:

  1. Press the Power button to turn the device off.

  2. Press the Power button again to restart the device. For advanced troubleshooting on certain models, use the reset pinhole or hold the Power button for an extended period.

Limitations

  • Factory reset is not available for older models, including the Insta360 Titan, Pro series and some Ricex Theta models.

  • Restarting the camera is the primary resolution for these devices when a factory reset is unavailable.
