Progress AI leverages AI technology to analyze aerial and ground imagery and detect trade progress on your construction site.

How does Progress AI work?
Progress AI tracks the status of construction trades through several interactive pages of DroneDeploy’s web application. Trade statuses are associated with individual locations set up on the Interior or Exterior of a project. Each location with a new capture will be automatically processed with Progress AI. Each trade will be assigned a status of Not Started, In Progress, or Complete based on the latest imagery. Your construction teams can interact with their data by analyzing project trends, asking questions to the chatbot, or downloading reports to share with stakeholders.
*Please note that the chatbot only answers Progress AI-related project questions.
What features are available in Progress AI?
Progress AI is a separate tab in the DroneDeploy web application. The following pages within the Progress AI tab are designed to make managing progress data simple yet informative.
- Dashboard: This page includes a table showing the hierarchy of levels and locations and the status of each trade for a given capture date. Additionally, our chatbot allows you to ask questions about progress in specific areas for faster discovery. Lastly, clicking the location will open a media viewer for you to analyze progress in an individual location.
- Drawing: The main landing page when you enter the Progress AI tab, the drawing page shows the status of one trade at a time across all locations. Switch between levels to analyze progress or use the date selector to review past results. Similar to the Dashboard page, clicking on any location opens the media viewer for that location.
- Trends: The trends page allows you to analyze your progress data for specific levels, trades, or zones. You also have the option to filter for a specific date range in order to assess trade performance, project velocity, and locations that might have stacked or stalled trades.
- Capture: This page shows all image locations for each capture date. The color shading allows you to see which locations have sufficient capture and which locations have no/little capture. Progress AI cannot analyze what it cannot see, which is why regular, consistent capture is imperative to the value of this product.
- Reports: The reports page provides a concise summary of progress detected between your two most recent capture dates. Reports are grouped by zone to allow you to focus on a specific area of your project. The start and end dates are adjustable. Click the “Download Report” button to share the report.
Which types of media does Progress AI support?
For Aerial data, Progress AI can be processed on any drone maps and progress photo plans. For Ground data, Progress AI is supported on all walks and panos. When capturing data, no additional action is required to run Progress AI. As long as the project has Progress AI enabled, all new media will be processed automatically after upload. If you would like to run Progress AI retroactively on past captures, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
How will I find out if progress has been made on my job site?
After recent captures finish processing, plans captured on the same date are grouped together and sent in a summary email to all users with Progress AI access. Each email includes an overview of which plans and levels were included, and a summary of the trades that were detected as "In Progress" and "Complete" between your most recent capture dates. Clicking the "Verify Progress" link opens the Reports page in the DroneDeploy web application. For captures uploaded on the same date, emails are delivered the following day at 6:00am Pacific Standard Time.
Who receives email updates about Progress AI?
Reports are emailed to all users with Progress AI access on your project, which can be managed through the feature provisioning modal.
What is the turnaround time for a Progress AI report?
Progress AI data is available in the web application as soon as it’s processed.. The turnaround time varies based on the plan type. For example, progress data for panos are available within a few minutes after upload, whereas walks take longer to process and are available after a few hours.
