DroneDeploy supports autonomous flight and mapping missions ONLY for the DJI Mini 4 Pro.

Other models in the DJI Mini series (including Mini 1, 2, 3, SE and Pro models) are not supported for autonomous flight within the DroneDeploy application. This is because a third-party Software Development Kit (SDK) from the manufacturer is required to operate the drones, and this is not available for the unsupported models.

Processing manually captured images

While direct application support is not available for all models, you can still process imagery in DroneDeploy that you capture manually with your DJI Mini series drone.

To do this, use the DJI Fly application to capture images, transfer them from your SD card to a computer, and then upload them to a DroneDeploy project for processing.

How to manually capture images for DroneDeploy

  1. Ensure your drone has the latest firmware installed.
  2. Connect to the DJI Fly application with your controller and mobile device.
  3. In the camera settings, set the photo size to 4:3 and the format to JPEG.
  4. Complete your pre-flight checks and launch the drone.
  5. Manually fly over your subject area, capturing images with sufficient overlap and coverage. A best practice is to photograph the subject from 90°, 65°, and 45° angles.
  6. After landing, confirm the images are saved to your SD card.
  7. Upload the images from your SD card to your project in DroneDeploy.
