DroneDeploy Firewall BETA Program

DroneDeploy Firewall fortifies your drone operations by strictly regulating communications between hardware, software, and cloud services. It’s a set of network security tools and software features that means you can have a secure connection between your Mavic 3 Enterprise, DJI RC Pro Enterprise, and DroneDeploy servers. The firewall is an added layer of protection to DroneDeploy’s Cloud Security, which is included in your Aerial subscription.

A firewall only permits connections to trusted, DroneDeploy-controlled U.S. servers on specific IP ranges, preventing drone data from going anywhere but its intended destination.

Please contact your Customer Success Manager or complete this form to access DroneDeploy Firewall.

How to Install and Operate DroneDeploy Firewall

Please confirm your DroneDeploy account has received access to DroneDeploy Firewall.

  1. To ensure compatibility, verify that you're using the latest DroneDeploy Flight app. Visit dronedeploy.com/m3e to check the available version against the one installed on your RC Pro Enterprise controller.
  2. Open the web browser on your RC Pro Enterprise and type in ‘support.dronedeploy.com/firewall_latest’.
(Note: This will automatically start installing the 'Firewall' app.)
  3. Tap ‘Download’, ‘Open’, then ‘Install’.
  4. Once the Firewall app is installed, open the app.
  5. Sign in to the app using your DroneDeploy account credentials.
  6. Toggle on ‘Firewall’ to enable DroneDeploy Firewall.
  7. Open the Flight app, enter your account preferences, and check if 'DroneDeploy Firewall’ is connected.

Your data is secure!

We recommend checking that Firewall is enabled and operating before each flight.

Troubleshooting Guide

  1. Check to see if you’ve received email confirmation that your DroneDeploy account has been enabled for Firewall.
  2. Please make sure you have the Firewall app installed on your RC. If not, follow the installation instructions above.
  3. Open the Firewall app and tap the toggle button to enable (see below). Wait until the shield icon turns green and the Firewall Status is ‘All OK.’
  4. Open 'dronedeploy.com' in Firefox on the RC. If that fails, please ensure your RC is connected to the internet. If it is connected, check the connection status in the DroneDeploy Flight app under ‘Account preferences.’

If you're still unable to connect, please contact us at support@dronedeploy.com.
