Flight planning allows thermal drone operators to choose which lens captures media during a mission, eliminating the need to set the desired capture lens in the DJI Pilot 2 App:
Visible (RGB Only)
Thermal (IR Only)
Both (RGB + IR)
Selecting a specific capture lens drives the flight path and capture speed to match the chosen lens. Setting the capture lens ensures you collect only the media you need, saving storage space and executing missions efficiently without requiring manual deletion of extra images.
Availability
Not available yet! ETA coming soon. Please reach out to Support@dronedeploy.com for information. When available, this feature is available to thermal drone operators using the following hardware models:

How to set the capture lens
Open an existing flight plan or create a new flight plan on the remote controller or web interface.
Select Advanced.

Select the desired image capture lens. The time and estimated image count update as you switch between visible and thermal options.
Limitations

Previous plans default to Both (RGB + IR).
Panorama and Stand Count flights do not support thermal photos.
