Overview
The Travel Altitude feature allows you to choose a higher, potentially safer altitude for the drone to fly to and from your mapping missions. This feature is ideal for customers using RCs or Docks who are mapping significant distances away from the dock or launchpad, especially those with obstacles like buildings, cranes, or steep terrain near the takeoff or landing location.
Travel Altitude is available within the Advanced Settings in your flight plan. A built-in 10-foot safety padding is also included.
Availability
Travel Altitude is available for all DroneDeploy Aerial subscriptions, including free accounts.
It is available for Map plans, as well as Photo, Video, and Pano flight plans.
Limitations
- Travel altitude can only be higher than the map plan altitude.
- It is not available for Corridor flight plans.
Note: Travel Altitude is a feature that improves flight safety and reliability by automatically adjusting altitude during transit to and from your mapping area.
