How to add users to your organization
Your DroneDeploy organization lets you maintain security, manage user permissions and keep track of drone operations efficiently. Adding users facilitates safety through user activity logging. Collaboration tools and sharing allow you to keep information centralized among your team. Now that you have created an organization, it is time to add members and collaborate.
Availability: Who has access?
Organization Admins and Enterprise account holders have access to user management features.
How to invite a user
In your DroneDeploy dashboard, click Organization Settings in the sidebar.
Select Users from the left side panel to view your user list.
Click Invite in the top right corner.
Enter the email addresses of the users you wish to add. Use a comma to separate multiple emails.
Use the drop-down menu to choose their member status.
Member: Standard access for most users.
Admin: Provides access to Organization Settings, User pages and all organization projects.
Verify the email addresses and click Invite. DroneDeploy sends a welcome email to the users automatically.
User invitation status: After inviting users, they will appear in your organization with one of the following statuses:
Pending: The user must check their email and accept the invitation. If they have already accepted, ask them to update their name in Preferences.

Failed: There was an issue with the email address or delivery. Remove and re-add the user to resolve this.

Active: The user is successfully added to the organization.

Note: Depending on your company's IT settings, welcome emails may arrive in the spam folder. Ask users to check their spam folder if they do not receive the invitation.
Once invited, you can update the users' role anytime:
You can also use this section to review the project access the user has, as well as their ability to fly or upload data.
What permissions does each user type have?
User permissions: As the organization owner, you control user access levels.
Admin: Can add or remove users, view equipment, pilots and reports, and change branding or preflight checklists.
Edit: Can upload, edit, share and comment on data in projects or folders they have access to. They can also delete empty folders or projects they created.
View only: Can view data in projects or folders they have access to. This role limits the user from uploading or processing new datasets.
What can Organization members access?
Organization member access: Enterprise organization members can perform the following actions:
Upload drone data to create maps.
View maps shared with them. Members see only the maps specifically shared with their account.
Examples Scenario 1: Long-term client: If you add a client to your organization so they can access maps and exports:
They see only the maps and annotations (such as volume measurements) you share with them.
They can export the maps available in their account.
They can create new annotations on their maps.
Scenario 2: Internal colleague: If you add a colleague to share findings and provide map access:
They see maps and annotations you share with them.
They can export data and create new maps.
They will not see maps you have not shared, which helps organize multiple projects by team.
