Request access

Have more questions? Submit a request

Request access allows members of an organization or project to ask for elevated permissions directly within the DroneDeploy interface. Whether you are a Viewer needing Edit access, or an Editor requiring Coordinator privileges, this feature streamlines the process of notifying administrators.

Availability

  • Available to: All user roles (Viewer, Editor, Coordinator) except Project Owners.

  • Platforms: Web and Mobile App.

How to use Request access

Follow these steps to identify your current permissions and request an upgrade.

  1. Open your project in DroneDeploy.

  2. Locate your access tag in the top-left corner of the screen (e.g., Viewer, Editor).

  3. Click the access tag. A menu will appear displaying your current permissions.

  4. Select the desired access level.

  5. Confirm the request. An automated email will be sent to the project leadership.

Key details

  • Visual Indicators: A tag at the top left of any project signifies your current access level.

  • Email Request Logic: When a request is submitted, DroneDeploy follows a specific hierarchy to ensure the right person is notified:

    • Requests are first sent to the Coordinators of the project.

    • If no Coordinator exists, the request is sent to the Project Owner.

FAQs

Q: Why can't I request access?
A: If you are the Project Owner, you already hold the highest access level for that project and do not need to request further permissions.

Q: Who approves my request?
A: Approvals are managed by the project's Coordinators or the Project Owner. You will be notified once your access level has been updated.
