Sync to OneDrive

Automatically sync your DroneDeploy exports directly to your Microsoft OneDrive or OneDrive for Business folders to keep your team updated with the latest aerial data.

Overview

The OneDrive integration allows for Auto Exports, saving your team from manually requesting and downloading standard exports after a map completes processing. Each time a new map processes in a configured project, the data triggers an automatic sync to your chosen OneDrive destination.

Availability

  • Auto Exports (required for this sync) are only available to Enterprise-level administrators.

  • Please contact your Account Executive to enable this integration.

1. Install OneDrive

  • Log into your DroneDeploy account.

  • Navigate to the App Market in the side panel

  • Search for OneDrive or OneDrive for Business and click Install for My Organisation

2. Connect to OneDrive

  • Open a project in DroneDeploy.

  • Click on Export in the bottom left of the Explore tab.

  • Navigate to Auto and Create new to open the settings window.

3. Connect with your project

  • In the export destination list, select OneDrive

  • Click Connect OneDrive. A new window will appear; log in with your Microsoft credentials to authorize the connection.

  • Select the specific OneDrive destination folder where you want your data to sync.

  • Click Select.

  • A notification will appear confirming the Auto Export is created.

  • You can view configured syncs under the Auto Exports menu. To delete a sync, click the three dots next to the export name.

Key Features

  • Automated workflows: Trigger exports automatically upon completion of map processing.

  • Organization-wide sync: Enterprise customers can select Use on all projects to ensure every map created by the team appears in a specific OneDrive folder.

  • Folder support: Organize data effectively by pointing different projects to specific cloud directories.

Limitations

  • File size and type: OneDrive supports syncing unzipped files up to 500 MB and zipped files up to 1 GB. Supported formats include JPEG, PDF, GeoTIFF (.zip), DXF/SHP (.zip), Shapefile (.zip), OBJ (.zip), LAS (.zip), XYZ Point Cloud (.zip), and RCP (.zip).

  • Existing data: Auto-exports only apply to data processed after the configuration is set. If your project already contains data and you want to upload it to OneDrive, you must use the Run option in the Auto Exports menu or perform a manual upload.

  • Platform support: As noted in Availability, this integration currently requires an Enterprise-level subscription and administrator permissions.
