Point annotations are markers placed on a 2D map or 3D model. They serve as a simple yet powerful way to communicate specific locations without needing to draw complex shapes. The Point tool allows you to mark specific locations on your map to highlight features, identify issues, or provide precise coordinates for your team. Point annotations are available to all DroneDeploy users across all subscription tiers.

The Point Annotation includes:

  • Change the name of the annotation
  • View who added the annotation and when
  • Latitude & Longitude
  • Elevation
  • Images of the location
  • Field Note Creation (will not populate on the Field Note Report)
  • Add a comment & attachment

How to use Point Annotation

Key Features

  • Precise Coordinates: Each point automatically displays the Latitude and Longitude (GPS coordinates).

  • Media Attachments: You can upload photos directly to a point to provide visual context of the area.

  • Team Collaboration: Tag teammates in the description to notify them of specific locations.
