Integrate DroneDeploy with Autodesk BIM 360 to seamlessly import drawings as overlays, export DroneDeploy maps directly into BIM 360 project files, and sync Field Notes with Issues in BIM 360 Docs.

Installing the DroneDeploy app in BIM 360
Log in as an Account Admin on BIM 360 and navigate to the Account Admin module.
Click the Apps tab from the console.
Locate the DroneDeploy app and click it.
Click Add to BIM 360 to install the application.
Installing the Autodesk BIM 360 app in DroneDeploy
Navigate to the App Market icon on the left side of your dashboard.
Search for the BIM 360 app in the All Apps section. You can also install the application by searching for it on the App Market webpage.
Configuring your admin connection
To leverage auto-sync, you need a BIM 360 admin account to facilitate synchronization between the two systems. If you are not the admin of your DroneDeploy organization, ask an admin to complete this task.
Navigate to your Organization Settings.
Navigate to your App Management page.
Install and Sign in to your BIM 360 admin account.
Adding BIM 360 drawings as DroneDeploy overlays
Ensure you have pop-ups enabled for your browser. Browser extensions and antivirus software can block new windows from opening.
Navigate to a DroneDeploy map and click + next to Layers and Overlays on the left side of your screen.
Click the Autodesk BIM360 tab in the new overlay window and sign in with your BIM 360 account.
Select your desired BIM 360 Hub and Project from the drop-downs to view its plans.
Click the folder that contains the drawing you want to use.
Click the overlay file and select Import in the bottom right corner of the window.

Auto-syncing DroneDeploy overlay drawing revisions from BIM 360
Ensure your admin connection is configured.
Navigate to your Project Settings in DroneDeploy.
Select the BIM 360 account and project you want to synchronize.
Toggle on Auto-sync drawing revisions.
Drawings imported from BIM 360 stay up to date with the latest revisions.
Exporting your DroneDeploy map to Autodesk BIM 360
Ensure the BIM 360 application is installed.
Select a map and click Export in the bottom left corner to open the Export window.
Click Auto, then Create New to connect to the Autodesk app. Sign in with your BIM 360 account if you have not already.
Select your export type.
Choose your export location and select Export.
Auto-syncing progress photos to a folder
Ensure your admin connection is configured.
Navigate to your Project Settings in DroneDeploy.
Select the BIM 360 account and project you want to synchronize.
Toggle on Auto-export Pin Media.
The media appears in your BIM 360 project.
Linking a DroneDeploy project to a BIM 360 dashboard card
DroneDeploy is part of the BIM 360 project home card library. You can view your latest project site or 3D model directly within BIM 360.
Navigate to your project in DroneDeploy and click the Share button at the top right corner of the page.
Copy the view-only link to your clipboard.
Go to customize your BIM 360 Dashboard and select the Card Library.
Filter on Partner Cards and Choose the DroneDeploy card.
Click Configure.
Paste the link into the Partner URL field and save.
Syncing Field Notes to BIM 360
Ensure the BIM 360 app is installed and your admin connection is configured.
Navigate to your Project Settings in DroneDeploy.
Select the BIM 360 account and project you want to push Field Notes to.
Create a Field Note in DroneDeploy.
Click Send to BIM to push the Field Note to Issues in BIM 360 Document Management.
This creates a deep link back to the relevant DroneDeploy Field Notes for visual context. Once linked, you can view and edit DroneDeploy Field Notes.
