The Insta360 X6 is supported in the DroneDeploy Ground App as an open beta, extending 360° capture for construction and reality capture workflows.
What is Insta360 X6 support?
With Insta360 X6 support in the DroneDeploy Ground App, users can capture and process 360° Panos and Walks using the X6, and manually upload X6 Walk files through Smart Uploader.
Key features and details
- 8K Walk capture: the X6 is the first Insta360 camera that supports 8K resolution at the 2 fps capture rate Walks run on, an increase from the previous 5.7K cap.
- Larger sensor: a 1/1.1-inch sensor improves low-light performance for cleaner detail in dim scenes.
- Higher-resolution panos: panoramic photo resolution increases to 120MP (approximately 16K).
- Built-in storage: 47GB of built-in storage means no SD card is required to activate or use the camera.
Availability: Who has access?
Insta360 X6 support is available to all users within the DroneDeploy Ground App on iOS (iPhone and iPad). The Ground App is iOS-only; Android is not supported.
How to use Insta360 X6 with the Ground App

Connect your X6. In the Ground App, open Capture and connect your camera. You can connect via:
- Nearby Camera (automatic for Insta360).
- Camera List (manual selection with on-screen Wi-Fi steps).

Capture and sync 360° Panos and Walks. Capture and sync Panos the same way you would with an Insta360 X5. A 360 camera is required for Pano and Walk capture.
