This feature is available for all DroneDeploy users with a supported device running the latest version of the operating system.
Overview
The DroneDeploy mobile app allows you to create and manage reusable flight templates, which are similar to what were previously known as flight plans. You can fly a template multiple times without creating a new copy for each flight. This practice helps reduce variability when you track change over time.
How to use Mobile App Flight Planning
Follow these steps to access and edit your flight plans within a project.
Access the FLY tab
The FLY tab displays flight templates.
Add Additional Flight Plans to Your Project
DroneDeploy Projects allow you to create multiple flight plans within your project, combining standard map plans with other media types, such as panoramic shots and videos.
- To add a new plan, choose the blue + (plus sign) next to your plan name.
- Select any flight plan to add to your project.
- After selecting the flight type, view an editable plan of that flight.
- You can quickly move between your plans in the project by using the drop-down menu.
Edit the Plan Boundary and Location

Select the white Arrow to close the flight panel and edit the plan boundary.
- Edit the boundary by tap-and-drag to move the white points.
- A single tap on a white point deletes it.
- Use the grey dots indicating a + (plus sign) to add angles to your plan.
- Your flight template automatically saves when you stop editing your boundary.
- Select the white Undo button to undo your last change.
